Bio
Kylie is an experienced Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of nursing experience, including 14 years in emergency nursing and 9 years in primary health care.
She completed her Master of Advanced Clinical Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) at Monash University in 2023 and is an endorsed Nurse Practitioner.
As a Nurse Practitioner, Kylie provides advanced, autonomous clinical care. Within her scope of practice, she can assess and diagnose health conditions, develop and manage treatment plans, request appropriate diagnostic investigations, prescribe medicines and coordinate referrals to other health professionals. Nurse Practitioners are also able to provide eligible services under Medicare and, where authorised, prescribe medicines listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
Kylie can provide:
- Comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management of a range of acute and primary health conditions
- Prescribing of medicines within her authorised scope of practice, including access to eligible PBS medicines
- Referrals to hospitals, specialists and other healthcare professionals where clinically appropriate
- Requests for appropriate diagnostic investigations, including X-rays, pathology and other diagnostic tests
- Comprehensive Travel Medicine consultations: including Yellow fever travel health advice and vaccination
- Weight management consultations
- Preventive health advice, health education and ongoing management of patients' healthcare needs
