Gladstone Street Medical Clinic is a family-owned, private billing general practice. From late 2013 our associate doctors, registrars in training, and nurses have provided a full range of traditional general practice services including nursing home visits, skin checks/procedures, and obstetric care. In addition, we host other specialities such as scalpel free vasectomies and psychology services. As part of our commitment to quality care and increasing capacity in the Gippsland region, we participate in post graduate general practice registrar training.
We will be closed Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday 2024. After hours GP available by contacting 5622 0444. In case of an emergency please contact 000. Gippsland residents also have access to after-hours telehealth via 1800 272 767 and/or check the availability of the Baw Baw Primary Care Centre.
Private billing fees apply to consultations. Doctors, who choose to set their own fees, are no longer bulk billing Concession Card holders or children 15 years & under and there is no discount for healthcare or pension cards.
Please note - BULK BILLING WILL NOT be reintroduced based on increased incentive payments for General Practice. Unfortunately, bulk billing consultations continues to not be financially viable. The reality is, even with increased incentive payments, the amount paid will not equal the amount needed to cover costs and adequately compensate your doctor and/or the practice.
Standard consultation fee - $89 (Medicare rebate $41.40)
Long consultation - $178.00 (Medicare rebate $80.10)
Please note, associate doctors set their own fees. Doctors charge other fees for procedures, longer/more complicated appointments, medical reports, completion of forms, etc. Please ask reception for more information.
Full payment is expected at the conclusion of each consultation. If an account is taken and not paid within 7 business days, a $10 handling charge will be applied to your invoice.
DVA Gold Card Holders are direct billed for consultations.
If you are experiencing financial difficulty, please discuss this with your doctor during your consultation. Reception staff communicate the fees determined by the doctor - they do not determine the fees.
